Hardness of EVA foam and it's usage

EVA foam is using as substitute of traditional plastic and silicone more and more often, in plastic products and parts due to it’s charactoristics. The most important factor is it’s harness, the harness of EVA foam varies from 10-90 shore C degree, it can meet different usage in most of the fields.

1.Injection molded EVA foam

The injection molded EVA foam is shaping from EVA pellets, the common hardness is 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80.

30 degree injected EVA foam is used to make some soft and light products or parts like seat cushion, pads, sports protector, pillows, etc.

40, 50 and 60 degree injected EVA foam is the most frequent used, it can make all kinds of products and parts we can see in daily lives, ipads case, shoes and sandals, pet chewing toys, cup holder, protective enclosures, it have good balance of weight and endurance.

70 and 80 degree is only used in products need to bear certain weight, like yoga roller, shore soles, kids car tires, etc.

2. Themoform molding EVA foam

The thermoform molding EVA foam is made from EVA foam sheets, it is second shaping, the density is much lower than injection molded EVA foam with only one time shaping. Common hardness of EVA foam use in thermoform molding is 25, 38, 50, 60 shore C.

25 is only used in cold compression molding for some parts need to be very soft and light.

38, 50 and 60 can be used in both cold compression molding and heat compression molding, they are widely used in kids toys, swimming kickboard, cosplay, helmet liners, packages, etc.
