Comperssion EVA foam molding is the forming process use to form EVA foam into all kinds of shapes. Generally speaking, it is include cold compression molding and hot compression molding, both are processed by EVA foam sheet, the difference is the processing procedure.

What is compression EVA foam molding

Comperssion EVA foam molding is the forming process use to thermoform EVA foam into all kinds of shapes. Generally speaking, it is include cold compression molding and hot compression molding, both are processed by EVA foam sheet, the difference is the processing procedure.

1. Cold compression molding of EVA foam is use to make simple, flat or approximate parts and products. It is usally used to make beffer parts like knee pad, helmet liners and so on.

Manufaturer fix the cold mold on the hydraulic pressure compression molding machine, then heat the EVA foam sheet (have cut into pieces based on the dimensions of part or products）in a industrial oven, after the EVA foam sheet being soft, put the EVA foam sheet on the cold open mold, press the machine switch to close the mold, force the soft EVA foam sheet being the shape of the mold.

2. Hot compression molding of EVA foam can make complicated part and products, it always used to make parts and products irregular and not flat.

Manufaturer need to process the EVA foam sheets into rough shape at first, then put the processed EVA foam shapes into the mold, after the EVA foam shape are in the mold, close the mold and put the mold on the hydraulic pressure compression molding machine (diffrent construction than cold compression molding machine), after few minutes heating of the mold, the EVA foam shapes will re-form in the mold to be the shape we need.
